Training For The Stage

If you are a stage performer, it's important to have a fitness practice that serves your creativity. On top of that, your training needs to make you healthier and full of energy.
The training sessions I design are inspired by the skills i learned as an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Turbulence Trainer of the Year, and as a working musical theatre dancer and choreographer.
When it comes to activities that are outside my "Zone of Delight," I have a very short attention span. My solution is to use Tabata Training: 8 rounds of 20 seconds of work alternating with 10 seconds of rest. I use bodyweight or resistance exercises that alternate with the dance moves that I love.
If you enjoy any style of dancing, I encourage you to try this technique.
I'm keeping this brief because I'm getting prepared to train right now.
Here is the Tabata of the Day.
First I wam up with:
8 Total Body Extentions
8 Mountain Climbers
8 Alternating side Lunges.
My Tabata Template is as follows:
Running Man 20 sceonds 10 seconds of rest.
Push ups. " "
T-Steps " "
Squats " "
DnB Step " "
Plank " "
Rocking " "
Skater Hops. " "
I finish with my stretching Tabata.
I will be creating posts and videos to demonstrate the steps and exercises later, but now it's time to train!
Now I want you to think of four dance steps you love to do so that you can start designing Tabatas of your very own.
All the Best,
Catherine
